Become an Umoja Scholar

 

We are glad you are here! Our Program Eligibility is as follows:

    1. Enrolled in 3 or more units at Fullerton College.
    2. Identify as Black/African, Black/African American or Black/African Diasporic (globally dispersed/worldwide) and/or interested in and willing to commit to learning from Black/African perspectives, experiences and diverse cultural lens’.

 

    • Complete the Application to become a Prospective Umoja Scholar
      • This application is intended for students who have never applied or returning Umoja Scholars who have not been enrolled at Fullerton College for one or more semesters. If you have previously applied and are unsure if we received your application, please contact umoja@fullcoll.edu to avoid duplicate applications in your name. Spring 2023 Umoja Applications are now closed. Fall 2023 Application Opens April 3, 2023: Umoja Scholars Application
    • Complete the Orientation to become an active Umoja Scholar (enrolled and participatory)
      • Orientation (in-person or online) is a pre-enrollment requirement to joining our program. Spring 2023 Orientations are now closed.

 

  • Complete our Program Requirements (Scholar Responsibilities) to maintain your active scholar status.
    • Meet with an Umoja Counselor once a semester; and
    • Attend at least two program activities (workshops, events, or Porch Talks) per semester.
